Military Base Child Development Centers

PDPlay has provided natural playgrounds and outdoor learning environments to military child development centers all over the U.S.

Child Development Centers (CDCs) are on-post facilities that offer full-time, part-time and hourly childcare service options for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. These facilities help reduce stress on families and support workforce readiness. Caregivers receive extensive training and are committed to providing children with developmental experiences in nationally accredited environments.

The Philosophy of the Military Child Development Center is based on “hands-on” active learning. These center-based programs allow opportunities for children to socialize with one another in a creative and enriching environment. The belief here is that the work of children is play, and it is through play that children naturally learn and understand important concepts pertaining to the real world.

Outdoor Learning Environments help enhance children’s play and development in a natural setting. A play space created around grass, wood, sand, and stone may easily become a natural haven for creative play at many different stages of development.

PDPlay is currently the only commercial playground manufacturer located in California and all of our products are manufactured in San Diego, CA. Our most recently completed CDC projects include play structures at a Naval Air Station in Texas, a Military Base in Texas, an Army Base in Virginia, and a Military Base in Louisiana.

At PDPlay, we believe the environment our children play in is as important as the playground. That is why we have championed environmental responsibility since 1990.
